Sibenik Riviera
Sibenik-Knin County is bounded by mountain Dinara and
sea. From its coastal side, it stretches to Rogoznica on
the south and to Pirovac on the west. That unusually
indented coastal and insular band represents Riviera
Sibenik and a group of 125 islands, small islands and
reefs above sea level which make National Park
Kornati are especially important due to their beauty.
Sibenik is an administrative centre of the
County, while towns Knin and Drnis are the
centres of Dalmatinska Zagora, known for its rich
history and archeological sites. Knin is also a hero
town of Croatian War of Independence, while Drnis
has become the synonym for high quality wine and
prosciutto ham.
Near
Knin rises river Krka which divides Sibenik-Knin County
on two parts, so it seems like the County belongs to
both North, as well as to the Middle Dalmatia. On its
upper current, Krka creates natural phenomenon preserved
as
National Park Krka. Then it mouths to
Prokljansko Jezero and afterwards to the sea. On its way
there are many well-known tourist destinations such as:
Skradin, Raslina, Bilice and Zaton (see:
Zaton
apartments).
The County's tourist orientation has secured
accommodation for large number of tourists. Hotels
Solaris Sibenik are well-known tourist settlement, 7
kilometres away from Sibenik.
However,
local people are also oriented towards tourism, so for
many people the rent of private accommodation (see:
Sibenik apartments) is a very important additional
business that improves households' budgets. In fact,
many citizens work in Sibenik's economy and places such
as Primosten, Prvic Luka or Prvic Sepurine
(Sepurina) are their second destination where, in their
own houses, they have arranged the apartments for rent
to tourists.
Well-known tourist destination are not just the above
mentioned Primosten or Prvic Luka. Island Murter (see:
Murter apartments) is well known to yachtsmen from all
over the world. Fishing, marines, shipyard, tourism are
all closely connected to Murter and Betina (see:
Betina
apartments).
And
for those who wish to stay closer to the mainland,
actually partly on the mainland and partly on the
island, there is a great destination Tisno where Murter
Island is connected to the mainland by the movable
bridge. Hundreds of private houses and apartments (see:
Tisno apartments) are at the guests' disposal.
On the way to Murter, Tisno, Jezera and Betina (the
largest settlements od Murter Island), on the other side
of the bay, in its whole length, you can see Pirovac.
Situated on the most western part of Sibenik Riviera,
Pirovac is an excellent
starting point for even three national parks: Kornati,
Krka and Paklenica.
The dillettantes of peaceful atmosphere will surely
choose Zirje Island. Apart from its distance from
civilization, Zirje is adorned by numerous hidden
bays-bathing areas. Although a part of island is
tarmac-paved, here you certainly don't need a car, but
bycicles are surely welcomed. Numerous paths and
belvederes are the paradise for those who wish to relax
and ride bycicles, but also for those who own a boat or
just want to experience real holiday listening to the
song of crickets (see:
Zirje apartments).
So, here, within the project Croatia Apartments, we have summoned the part of North Dalmatia. Numerous other destinations of Sibenik Riviera and Sibenik-Knin County can be found on the site Info Adriatic - Croatia Apartments, to which owners we are grateful for the given materials.
